Congratulations to our 2026 FHL baseball and softball all league honorees!

We had some great performances at the state track meet this past weekend, but this is pretty awesome too! Check out this email we received today from a longtime state track volunteer.
"I have volunteered at the state track meet for almost the last 35 years with the last 14 years having the main responsibility of recruiting junior high students to help with blocks, hurdles, and filling cups of water for the athletes along with any other tasks that KSHSAA finds for them to do. Until the last several years, I also worked on the track at the finish line as well.
Saturday my group of students were busy with other jobs. I had been trying to find the person to refill the water jugs. When I came back to the finish line area, Jaiton and Kaiden Bosse along with Emma Cameron, Alexys and Baylie Wieneke from West Franklin who had finished their events were helping fill cups. I went and talked to them and they told me that they just wanted to help however they could. All the girls were friendly, polite, and respectful.
When I came back from taking a break from the heat, they were still working. I took it upon myself to get them all the blue volunteer tee shirts like my student volunteers were wearing. They continued to fill water cups AND pick up trash around the finish line area until the weather delay. When they interacted with my group of recent junior high graduates (they) worked together in harmony, taking time to visit along the way.
My students had to leave when the first lightning delay happened because their parents were wanting to get home before the storm hit.
Jaiton stayed until the end of the meet and ended up helping with blocks along with a boy who graduated this year who is going to play football at Emporia State and two or three other college students from Osage City.
I appreciated these students and their servant hearts and pleasant personalities and wanted to share that with you."
Sincerely,
Cleta Smith
